Human milk provides a baby the best start in life! Milk banking allows a mother who finds herself with excess milk the opportunity to make a difference by giving another baby a chance to thrive. Governed by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA), milk banks are able to ensure the safety of donated milk by careful screening, laboratory testing and pasteurization techniques. The milk can then be distributed with a physician prescription to babies who need it most. Learn more about milk banking.
About Northwest Mothers Milk Bank
Northwest Mothers Milk Bank is a non-profit organization whose mission is to collect, pasteurize and distribute donor human milk for medical needs. Human milk is the ideal food for human babies; rich in immune properties, growth factors and nutrients that cannot be replicated.
We belong to a community of HMBANA milk banks across North America who are working together to promote the health and safety of mothers and babies through the provision of safe pasteurized donor milk and support of breastfeeding.
